Bengaluru, Aug 11: It is learned that some shocking facts have been revealed in the investigation being carried out by special investigation team (SIT) relating to the Lokayuktha graft case. One of them is that Ashwin Rao, son of Y Bhaskar Rao, was paid Rs 15 lacs by an MLC.

Ashok Kumar who is the second accused in graft case is said to have made some confessions in connection with the case. He has reportedly admitted that he was the witness when a person from an MLC handed over Rs 15 lac to Ashwin Rao.

The ‘bribe’ was given in the premises of the residence of the Lokayuktha chief Justice Bhaskar Rao, it is revealed. The investigation team is confident that this confession will help them in prosecuting Ashwin Rao, the main accused in the case. The team is trying its best to verify the truth in the confession.

One more FIR registered

A new FIR has been registered against Ashwin Rao in the graft case on Monday. Based on the complaint lodged by KPCC member and businessman P N Krishnamurthy that Ashwin Rao took a huge amount with the promise of sorting out a property dispute, the special investigation team has registered the FIR.
