LG stays Delhi government's decision on circle rates

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS): Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung has withheld his nod to the notification issued by the AAP government on new circle rates, a government source said on Monday.

Jung's disapproval will add to the acrimony between him and the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi.

Last week, the Delhi government had notified an increase in circle rates of agricultural land, but Jung had objected to it, saying he was not consulted.

The Aam Aadmi Party government justified its move, saying the decision did not violate any rule. Jung replied, saying he was examining the matter.
