Indian, Pakistan troops clash in Kashmir

Jammu, Aug 11 (IANS): Indian and Pakistani troops on Tuesday traded gunfire in Poonch district along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the military said.

Defence ministry spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told IANS that the Pakistan Army resorted to "unprovoked firing" in Krishna Ghati sector at 1.00 a.m. on Tuesday.

“They (Pakistani troops) used small arms and automatics. Our troops retaliated, effectively using same calibre weapons," he said, adding that no causality was reported on the Indian side.
