Kottayam (Kerala), Aug 11 (IANS): A probe committee appointed by the MG University here on Tuesday confirmed that Kerala Inspector General of Police T.J.Jose had indulged in copying while appearing in the masters in law (LLM) examination in May.

Jose was caught cheating in exams at his centre at the St.Paul's College Kalamassery near Kochi. Following a huge media outcry, he was asked to proceed on leave and a Crime Branch police probe was also announced then.

The MG varsity syndicate probe committee members told the media here that Jose indulged in copying as per the University rules as he was found with papers and he did not surrender these to the invigilator.

Jose was caught cheating in the exam on May 4 and the invigilator, an hour into the examination, asked Jose to leave the hall as he was found copying from papers that he brought with him.
