Two held for killing INLD leader

Gurgaon, Aug 11 (IANS): Two people were arrested on Tuesday for abducting and killing Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Sunder Singh, police said.

Sunder Singh, 35, a resident of Jatauli near Pataudi, was abducted by Ramratan alia Rajnish, 34, and Krishan Kumar alias Kalia, 26, on August 3.

Later in the evening of the same day, both the accused opened fire at Singh's brother Mukesh Kumar, leaving him critically injured.

The accused told the police that they had a property dispute with Sunder and his brother and planned the killing nearly a month back.

"Both the accused were on Tuesday arrested by Gurgaon's crime branch unit-6 chief Dilbag Singh and his team from IMT Manesar area," a senior police officer said.

"The arrested duo disclosed that Singh was gunned down on the same day and the body was dumped at an isolated place near Rampur village," the officer said.

"The accused purchased two country-made pistols from Uttar Pradesh to execute the crime. We are grilling them on police remand," the officer added.

The badly decomposed body of the INLD leader was recovered on Tuesday.
