Verbal conflict leads to death of Indian businessman at 5-star hotel

Dubai, Aug 12 (Emirates 247): An Indian businessman, running a property brokerage firm, died on Monday night in a hospital after being attacked by an Arab national at a five-star hotel in Dubai, according to sources close to the victim.

Mahendran Yadav, Managing Director, Emirates Homes Real Estate Brokers, was attacked at the hotel restaurant after a verbal dispute took place between him and the Arab national who asked him not to take pictures on his mobile.

Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Deputy Commanding General of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, said that the police have arrested the man for attacking Yadav and causing his unintentional death.

He said the Arab national was sitting in the same restaurant with his fiancée as the deceased and his friends.

"And while the deceased was taking pictures of his friends the accused did not want to be filmed. He asked the hotel workers to stop Yadav from taking pictures.

"Soon there was an altercation between the two parties. The Arab national hit the Asian who fell and hit his head on the ground," the official said.

A close friend of the deceased told Emirates 24|7, "Yadav was taking pictures of his family friends who were visiting him from India, when the Arab asked him to stop, Yadav questioned him 'what his problem was.' The Arab national got angry and punched him in his face."

"An ambulance was called and he was rushed to Rashid Hospital. He was placed on life support on Sunday night and died on Monday."

"The body of Yadav is expected to be handed over after autopsy by tomorrow. His funeral will take place in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu," the victim's friend told this website.

What a tragedy! A precious life is lost . Apolozy is the best medicine , also better not to rush rather maintain calm in some critical situations one facing in life, instead of arguing. RIP Mr. Yadav.

We started our freehold career together in Dubai. I have never seen him showing his temper on anyone. Ever smiling. And I am sure if he had taken the picture of the Arab and his fiancée he would apologized and moved away. He never liked confrontation. Mahendran you were a character in real estate which we will miss. RIP.

Some of readers have a impression that Dubai is a Arab country and their rules are different to Indian. Here rules for Local or expatriate are same. Now the man is arrested and they will take action as per their rule. No bail, some one is killed may be unintentionally but they will keep him jail, penalty i.e. blood money etc as per their rule. Dubai got more 200 nationalities and rule for everyone is same.

Well, it is risky taking picture in a public place, especially when females are present. We expatriates should be cautious in a foreign land and that too you are daring an Arab. See the consequences now.

There was one King who wanted help from another King,So he sent a letter through his messenger...On receiving that letter,King became angry,it was written " I need your help this time, but if you don't help me, then...." ,So latter lost his cool,it hurt his ego and he attaked first one before first King attacked..both Kings suffered huge loss of life..

finally one mediator came asked them what the issue was..2nd King showed him letter, mediator went to first King,
then First King said "I wrote 2 pages, where is the 2nd Page ?
In the 2n page I wrote " If you don't help me,then....I will have to surrender to my enemy"..

Moral : Don't take decision when you are very angry as well as very happy" ..Think..Think and take your decision.

    Very sad news,
    RIP.
The video used by deceased Yadav will play a vital role now,But accused will get punishment that's sure, since its not like India, here in india its tough to award punishment to real culprit, but in dubai every corner they fix cctv, all footage will be observed and culprit will be punished within short period of time.

It's totally wrong on the part of Indian..by clicking photos in public places. Should at least abide rules of that country. It's not India..where you can do anything. It's now become even craze..to take photos and post it in what'sapp or in face book..showing dined in Five Star Hotel.

When somebody informing not to do..should respect there views at least. Arabs are having there own culture..where in it's totally forbidden. By small incident..two families shattered. Would have been solved it easily. Egoism is the main cause of all such incidents.

Same happened with Old Nawab Saif Ali Khan..in five star hotel along with Malaika Arora and Kareena..bashing a south African Guy. Latter on saif..apologized for wrong-doing when he filed a case.

The matter could have been settled with good understanding rather than challenging because of money power. The attitude I am a business man and I got Wastha (influence) could have resulted in such uncompromised dealing. Ultimately is will be proved that it is an accidental death. Precious life is gone forever.
Sad day for the family members & friends. Death comes in disguise.

I agree with you Sir. I had read sometimes earlier that a person who uploaded video an accident scene where a local hit the driver of the other car, got prosecuted. Those who aware of rules and regulations and Dubai do take care while taking pictures in public.

The diseased seem to have felt ego-damage in the presence of his guests on being asked to stop photographing. MD of an established Brokerage firm - you see ?

In general, no ordinary people lock horns with Arabs, may it be local or GCC countrymen. One can't assume whether their partner is genuine or if he of an elite background because unlike in India, Arabs don't show off their weight by taking along a dozen of body guards.

    RIP Mr. Yadav.

    Stan,
Firstly, you are singing a song on someones death. Its not funny.
Secondly, if taking a pic is crime, killing someone isn't? The law should take action and not individuals like you and me who sit and decide what is right and wrong!
