Mumbai, Aug 12: The 27th annual general body meeting of Mathrabhoomi Cooperative Credit Society Limited owned by Bantara Sangha, Mumbai was held at Radhabai T Bhandary auditorium of Bantara Bhavan at Kurla east on the morning of Sunday Aug 9. Society president Ratnakar Shetty Mundkooru presided over the meeting. Bantara Sangha Mumbai president Karnire Vishwanath Shetty lit the traditional lamp and set the meeting in motion.
Directors Nagriguthu Vivek Shetty, Dr Prabhakar Shetty, Mahesh S Shetty, Rathnakar G Shetty, Karunakar M Shetty, Mundappa S Payyade, Kishore Kumar M Shetty, CA Ramesh Shetty and Santhosh M Javaddale were present on the dais.
“I feel proud to say that Mathrabhoomi Society is leading among cooperative societies in the city. Besides good business, it is helping in education. If the board of directors had decided and worked on starting a bank, we too would have had our own bank. Decades ago when Bunts were helpless due to Bhoomasudhe law, Sundaram Shetty with his far sightedness started Vijaya Bank and gave power to Bunts. We too should think positive like him. We should unite, start a bank not only to lend loans but to provide employment to thousands of community members and progress in strength,” said Karnire Vishwanath Shetty.
Meanwhile CA Sachin M Shetty, son of Mathrabhoomi Society vice president Ulthooruguthu Mohandas Shetty who passed CA exam with the 28th rank was felicitated on the occasion. Pygmy collector's children Shivani D Mally(HSC) and Manas Shetty(SSC) were also presented presents on behalf of the society and honored on the occasion.
Society vice president Ulthooruguthu Mohandas Shetty welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary Jayarama A Shetty conducted hall programmes and gave details of activities in the society. Honorary treasuer CA Ramesh B Shetty gave details of annual accounts.
