Soldier injured in Kashmir attack


Srinagar, Aug 12 (IANS): A soldier was critically injured in the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday when separatist guerrillas attacked an army vehicle.

The militants targeted the Rashtriya Rifles vehicle near Tharuna Shopian, 60 km south of Srinagar.

The wounded soldier, Puboo Ram, was shifted to a hospital, a police officer told IANS.

Security forces immediately launched an operation to nab the gunmen, the officer said.
