4 injured in Srinagar grenade blast


Srinagar, Aug 12 (IANS): Three security personnel and a civilian were injured on Wednesday evening in a grenade attack here, police said.

"Three security personnel, including two Central Reserve Police Force troopers and an assistant sub-inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police were injured when the grenade lobbed by the guerrillas at the security forces patrol in Khanyar area exploded," a police officer said.

Khanyar is in the old city, and located four km from city centre, Lal Chowk.

The injured personnel were taken to hospital when the area was surrounded by security forces to nab the perpetrators, the police officer added.
