NSA talks: Sartaj Aziz to visit India on August 23

Islamabad/New Delhi, Aug 13 (IANS): Pakistan's National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz on Thursday confirmed he will travel to India on August 23 for talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

Aziz told a news conference in Islamabad: "I can confirm that I will be going to India on August 23."

The confirmation by Aziz, the Pakistan prime minister's advisor on national security and foreign affairs, came after days of not responding to the dates proposed by India a month ago.

The two NSAs are to discuss terrorism related issues, as mandated by the joint statement issued after the July 10 landmark talks in Ufa, Russia between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
