Mumbai / Bengaluru, Aug 13 (Daily Mail) : A top contractor and the personal assistant (PA) of a minister in Karnataka’s Congress government were arrested in Maharashtra after police raided a rave party which allegedly had call girls at it.

Kiran Singh Rajput (42), who is supposed to be the PA of a Karnataka minister along with three staff of the state government and the contractor were at the party, allegedly with call girls, at a private farm in Kolhapur district when the local police raided the venue.

Along with Kiran, Nagaraj Hanumanthaiah — who works in the state secretariat, Hemanth Rame Gowda and Arun M from the education department were arrested.

The rave party was allegedly organised by a top contractor as a return favour to officials for clearing files related to a project

The contractor, Indrashankar and four others, including the lady, who supplied the prostitutes, were also arrested.
All the nine accused have been remanded in judicial custody till August 14.

Two others, including the driver of the PA, are absconding.

The accused wanted to party in Karnataka, but feared that they would get caught.

Then, they decided to party in Maharashtra at a village bordering Karnataka.

The rave party was organised at a private farm in Injole village in Kolhapur district.

Incidentally, the police were monitoring movements at the farm house, as there were allegations that it was hosting rave parties with girls from Mumbai and Pune frequenting it.

When the police raided the party, the Karnataka government officials did not identify themselves.
However, later they revealed their identity and requested the police not to file the charges.

But the police did not buckle under pressure.

Kiran Singh Rajput reportedly told the police that he was one of the three PAs employed by a minister in North Karnataka.

The police have not yet revealed the name of the minister, as they are ascertaining his claims.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka government has ordered a probe into the incident.

The police have impounded cash, mobile phones and laptops, all worth over Rs 16 lakhs from the nine accused.
The Karnataka government has banned all kinds of rave parties in the state.

Since then, Goa and areas bordering Karnataka and Maharashtra have emerged as alternative options for rave parties.
