Humid morning in Delhi


New Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS): It was an uncomfortable, sultry Friday morning here with the possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas during the day, the Met Office said.

The morning was sweaty and commuters perspired as they waited to board a bus or catch a metro train.

"It will be a cloudy day. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius," an official of the India Meteorological Department said.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 81 percent.

Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 28.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
