Madhya Pradesh government to ensure every poor has shelter

Bhopal, Aug 18 (IANS): The Madhya Pradesh is contemplating a law under which houses belonging to the poor will not be demolished in the name of encroached land until there is an alternative arrangement available for them.

At a high-level meeting, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued directions to formulate the legislation related to houses of the poor.

The meeting was informed that on the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, a "Gareeb Kalyan Varsh" (Poor welfare year) will be launched on September 25 during which various schemes related to the poor would be evaluated and new schemes launched.
