Vice president condoles Suvra Mukherjee's death

New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS): Vice President M. Hamid Ansari on Tuesday condoled the death of Suvra Mukherjee, wife of President Pranab Mukherjee.

The vice president in a statement said, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Suvra Mukherjee..."

Ansari added: "In this hour of grief I join the nation in offering deepest condolence to the president and the bereaved family members. May the almighty grant peace to departed soul."

Suvra Mukherjee died in the national capital on Tuesday after prolonged illness.
