Even Though The Tanker Driver Is At Fault, The Boy Does not have a riding license hence he is not allowed to ride a two wheeler on a national highway

The road is yet to be broadened in front of LVT. To add to it, a minor was riding the two wheeler. A recipe for disaster. Ultimately a life is lost. An irreparable loss.

Government should make RTO more powerful by providing high tech facilities and install CCTV every where and RTO should watch in hiding place to see speed of the vehicle. even highways should close each side of the Road to control unexpected Entry by all the way, but because of some influence in N66 they stopped doing construction which already half done by co.

Kallianpur Santhekatte junction is very dangerous intersection and accident prone. Traffic Dept/Police Dept is sleeping. Poor planning and useless politicians. There need traffic Lights & overbridges for people to cross, Many lives are lost around the location. People living nearby must press their demands with Politicians and Taluk office/Collector. Drivers also need to drive safe else pay fine.

It should have been a duty of your Parents not to let you as a Minor to drive and also the Stupidity of Erring Truck Driver who has little to no Humanity to Slow Down from his Speed in the First Instance or Stop the Vehicle at least Later the incident. Shame on Him. God also knows Truck Driver's Fate...!!!

Younger generation of today is not understanding the value of life.Parents be watchful on your teenage children and please do not allow them to ride two wheeler without licence and advice them to avoid highways even if they have licence.

I was in Bombay and the traffic is extremely bad even during the lean hours. Taxi driver said, there are 35000 new vehicles pouring into Bombay everyday and there is no for vehicles to move at all. From morning 7 till evening 11 PM, he slogs with his feet tiring applying brakes and clutch continuously.
That is how our India infrastructure is progressing. It would be similar sooner in Mangalore.
God help us. What is in store for the generation following?

Please, do not allow your kids riding 2 wheelers on National Highways and State Highways. Almost truck drivers are from other states hit and run away. deceased are our local youths.

It is surprising that the driver of the tanker sped away without stopping or without rendering first aid. There is a certain COD OF CONDUCT that needs to be followed by all drivers and that is in the case of accidents STOP AND RENDER FIRST AID and try to save a life. The legal formalities can wait when it is a question of saving lives.

It is just a question of time before the defaulter is apprehended and booked.

You brought up a very good point. The problem is we are too divided. We play chillar politics, God & Religion in every good or bad thing. On top of that we have chaltha hai attitude!
Have you ever thought MK Gandhiji's wardrobe choice and the reason behind that. Only to unite us behind him under one flag. If he was suited-booted we would have been a British colony even now. Thinkboutit.

No one has pointed the basic discrepancy in widening of NH 66. NHAI boasts of hiring Int'l experts in widening the highway. One commuting from Kundapura to Mangalore can see with naked eyes the quality, favouritism, discrimination etc in formation of road. I have not seen any highway passing through so many towns and cities like NH 66 from Kundapur to Mangalore. People sacrificed their land for formation of the road in abt 1968 which was built (2 lanes) with tax payers' money. Now again the same people are being displaced and ribbon developments taken place are being destroyed by projecting that the widening is for public cause/national importance. Different yardsticks are applied in land acquisition, width, road median etc. in Udupi and Mangalore itself. When the affected locals protested and objected to form the road beyond the already acquired 45 meters no one gave them the support/justice.

The government, local MLAs, MPs and even the H'able courts washed their hands off. Now it is not only the land losers that are suffering but every local who is using the NH 66 is at risk due to unscientific way of formation, wrong location, unfinished work, several diversions without proper signboards and light etc. Can some one tell me how many lives have been lost since the widening work started? There is adequate barren land where the highway could have been formed with shortest distance instead of the present curvy (snake's path)road and displacing so many locals including the farmers. Kerala and Goa Govts. did not allow to widen the road beyond 30 - 45 meters. However in Udupi - 5 Km in Kundapur, 2 KM in Kota are 45 meters width, Padubidiri town it is learnt 45 meters width whereas in other important towns like Brahmavara, Santhekatte (Udupi City Municipality Area) Udupi, Katapady etc. 60 meters are acquired paying paltry compensation. For same NH discrimination every where. Acquiring land and destroying developments of one generation! Total failure!

This is a sad case.. I am from that place.. Also there is no Bridge so that people can cross the road.. Everyday old People complain abt it.. I have seen many near miss cases.. It's getting crowded.. Fact is people still vote for the same people which do not function..

Sad at the loss of young life. No matter whose fault it is, upon discovering that the driver is a minor, all claims become null and void. This is how we unknowingly give reason for hit-and-run, where, defaulters get a free license.
