Bengaluru: Cubbon Park police gear up for e-date with Modi

Bengaluru, Aug 20 (DHNS): Cubbon Park police station in the City holds the distinction of being one of the three police stations in India to be selected for video conferencing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Ministry of Home Affairs selected one police station each from Karnataka, Assam and Uttar Pradesh for a video conference with the prime minister who will address the personnel on Aug 26.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil said: “Cubbon Park police station is one of the three police stations in India, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the police personnel through video conference. The State police is a front-runner in implementing technology and modern methods in policing. Also we are trying to use information and technology in policing and this drew the attention of the Centre. We are planning for a paperless office. So, all these factors have made the State police stand out. The Cubbon Park police station has adopted smart policing and digital initiative under the Crime and Criminal Centrally sponsored Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) project, ” added the officer.

A police officer mentioned that Balakrishna, the inspector of Cubbon Park police station, is being trained on conversing with the prime minister during the the video conference.

“We are still not aware if it will be a question-and-answer session. But the prime minister will assess the technology used in policing and might also advice on how to go further. A mock trial will also be held in the coming days. The video conference will be held in VV Tower, where the DG and IGP of State, along with a host of senior police officers, will be present. The jurisdictional police along with the local police personnel will be present to witness the conference which will also be aired at Cubbon Park police station,” the officer added.

The Supreme Court on Monday pulled up the Union government for not “showing seriousness” in bringing back black money stashed away abroad, and constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to take steps to bring back unaccounted monies.

Passing an interim order on petitions filed by the former Union Law Minister, Ram Jethmalani, and others, a Bench of Justices B. Sudershan Reddy and S.S. Nijjar, expressed serious concern over the magnitude of the problem and the threat black money posed to the country's economy.

The SIT will function under the chairmanship of the retired Supreme Court judge, B.P. Jeevan Reddy.

The court directed the government to issue a notification forthwith regarding the appointment of the SIT and ordered that the government machinery cooperate with it.

The magic man is back again.I was watching LIVE telecast of UAE speech,He was simply talking about what he is planning in Bihar.It was a Bihar election campaign organized in UAE.
Or he was reading out the next day agenda because very next day he was addressing a speech in Bihar.
I really wonder what is the contribution of BJP government in creating jobs in UAE for Indians.
He was in full swing with his regular marketing plans and the cheer leaders must be flown from Ahmadabad who were ready to applause every now and then.
It is not the UAE government is going to Invest in India,but it is the rich Adani,Birla group who have set up offices in UAE will come to India as UAE investors and the government will provide them all one window facilities.
All these people who gathered were expecting UAE visa on arrival and UAE citizenship for the Mallu's and Mangy's. But the actual plan was to create a channel for the UAE companies(which belong to Indians)to transfer all the black money to India and make it white.
So we are fools waiting with our newly opened bank account expecting 15 lakhs each.

One can have different opinions about a person.Only thing is it should be borne out of unbiased thinking.It is not necessary that one should have all the best things or all bad opinion about Modiji or Sonia gandhi.But I have not read any good about Modiji and bad about Sonia Gandhi by Mr.Vincy Bngkok in this forum.Many are there like Vincy saheb.General readers do not attribute any significance for such comments.....like Janardhana Poojary's press meetings!

I think this comment is better directed to feku bhakts because it applies to them 100%.
Note that if you expect comments towards political personalities to be unbiased then criticism of who you think are biased commentators here in DW should also be unbiased Prabhu Saiba !

I really appreciate that follow up.Bad about Sonia was possible only if your Sushmaakka had allowed her become PM.She had mandate but did not wanted Sushma shaving off her head.
I have no intention to talk either about Modi but circumstances and his actions does not suit a PM.

Secondly the Police station e- campaign in Bengaluru was initiated in Jan 2013 when BJP was still ruling the state. Siddu is just an anomaly for enjoying fruits sowed by BJP in K'Nataka
