Mangaluru, Aug 21: Tension prevailed at Gantalkatte in Moodbidri near here on Thursday August 21, after a clash erupted between activists of a right-wing outfit and persons belonging to another community.

It is said the right-wing activists, on receiving credible information, raided a spot near Gantalkatte junction where cattle had been tied, alleging that the animals were meant for illegal slaughterhouse.

Angered at this, youths belonging to another community protested and arguments arose between the two groups. The arguments soon snowballed into a full-fledged brawl.

A team of four policemen rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control, but tension continued to prevail. Finally, the police were able to calm down the two groups.

Sources said that at least three persons from the right-wing outfit have been admitted to hospital.

Man unzips!

Meanwhile, in a bizarre incident, a man at the spot approached a reporter from a news channel who was video recording the brawl, and allegedly unzipped his trousers, challenging the reporter to film his act. Another person who noticed mediapersons at the spot quickly intervened and took the man away.

When the Govt. decides what a human being should eat and what not to eat, these things are bound to happen. Hope better sense prevails and let all know that human life is more precious than cattle.

Dear Sujigh, how police can take action against the cow smugglers / cow chores, as they are from sangh parivar. They steal cows and sell to traders. After receiving money from the buyers, they inform it to their other colleagues who attack the buyer and snatch cow plus valuables from him. It is sad that police is also supporting these cow chores.

Whoever is wrong - no one has any right to law into hands. If there was any suspicion that cattle was getting ready to be unlawfully slaughtered, the course open is to inform the authorities who would take action.

Hope the police will take appropriate action and ensure that peace and understanding is restores.
