Modi congratulates Wickremesinghe

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Ranil Wickremesinghe after he took oath as Sri Lanka's prime minister.

"Congratulations and best wishes to Ranil Wickremesinghe on being sworn in as prime minister," Modi said in a statement.

Wickremesinghe led his United National Front to a victory in Monday's parliamentary elections.
