Kasargod: Falling television set causes child's death

Kasargod, Aug 22: A couple from Kanhangad in the district presently living at Kochi lost their only daughter after the television set came crashing on her head. This tragic incident occurred on Thursday August 19.

K P Unnikrishnan, an engineer by profession, who hails from Drishya Nilaya, Kanhangad South, presently works at Kochi. He lives in an apartment there, along with wife, Vidya.

The couple's female only child, one-year-old Arnava, was playing with the television stand, when Unnikrishnan was busy preparing to leave for office, and his wife was engrossed with household work. The television set suddenly slipped out of its position and fell on the child's head.

The child suffered deep injury on its head, resulting in heavy bleeding. Although the child was rushed to a local hospital, the doctors said they could not save the child as it had lost lot of blood by the time it was referred to them for treatment.

    Very tragic incident. parents carelessness also may be one of the reasons. As the kid getting naughty and pulls everything that comes its away, parents have to take all the precautions that no harm is done to the child. All possible risks have to avoided. RIP

    Very tragic, heart wrenching incident. When the time comes, one can't escape the pain and death. Especially when it happens to our little angels, its unimaginable sorrow and trauma.     I think it's of old model doom Tv it seems. Now a days LED, LCD tv may not be harmful even if it falls on a body. But anyway it's a bad luck baby. Your soul rest in peace at the hands of the Lord...
