Mangaluru, Aug 24: Residents in the city and outskirts on Monday August 24 woke up to a thick blanket of fog that enveloped the city.

The city looked beautiful wrapped in a silky, feathery mist, making for a postcard-perfect scene for lensmen.

The photographs captured by daiiworld''s ace photographer, Dayanand Kukkaje, brings the best out of the otherwise unknown side of the city when it is still sleepy, oblivious to the fog that has enveloped it.

These photos were taken from locations like Bondel, KPT, Kadri Park, Nanthoor, Pumpwell, Netravati Bridge, Padil, Adyar, and Valachil.

An official at the weather department said that the fog was a result of temperature inversion and low humidity. The visibility was also affected considerably. The maximum temperature on August 24 is 29 degree celsius and minimum 23 degree celsius.

Really nice pics and it was great day for photo enthusiastics.
But no wonder why two wheeler accident deaths are increasing day by day in Mangalore !!! Most of the riders not wearing helmet and one man is doing multi tasking, one hand on handle and the other holding cell phone. When will you wake up !!!!

Very unfortunately shows the dark side of Namma Kudla ..
    Badly parked vehicles,
    unmindful two wheelers,
    rubbish all around
    haphazardly drawn electric wires,
unfinished and scary death traps what we call roads!!
ugly hoardings and shanty petty shops on the highways!!

even the fog could not hide what the lens sees
wonder where we are heading !!
