Udupi, Aug 24: ICYM Kallianpur Deanery and Milagres Cathedral unit organized deanery level 'Yuva Yekthar – 2015' at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall, Kallianpur near here on Sunday August 23.
The mega event was inaugurated in a fantastic way by switching on the button for the tree lights by Fr Stany B Lobo rector of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur. Derick Mascarenhas president of ICYM Diocese Central Council gave the keynote address on ’Specs’ which centered on spiritual formation, personality development, educational excellence, cultural enrichment and socio – economic development. He pointed out the independence and values of the life of youngsters. He gave some hints on the impact of social electronic media.
Fr Stany B Lobo in his presiding address mentioned that the creativity of the youth seen during the inauguration ceremony was fantastic and he praised the youth for their intelligence. Whatever you do, do it differently. Youth should stand on their own feet and think for themselves.
Fr Fredrick D’Souza director of ICYM Kallianpur Deanery, Fr Richard D’Souza director of Canara Communications Mangaluru, Fr Edwin D’Souza director of Youth Commission, diocese of Udupi, Jestan Fernandes president of ICYM Kallianpur Deanery, unit presidents of Kallianpur Deanery, Central council members, Melroy Almeida president of Milagres unit were present on the dais.
The inaugural function was compered by Amoolya Lewis of Pethri unit, Jestan Fernandes welcomed the gathering and Melisha Fernandes of Thottam unit delivered the vote of thanks.
After the inauguration, the next session was held by Fr Richard D’Souza resource person of the day. The Eucharistic celebrations were held at the Milagres Cathedral by Fr Rollwin Aranha asst parish priest of Milagres was the celebrant of the mass.
After lunch, group singing and skit competitions were held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall. Fr Denis Lobo of Pilar Fathers, Suraj Francis Noronha and Aruna Noronha were the judges of the competitions.
During the valedictory function, Fr Fredrick D’Souza, three judges, ICYM officials of the deanery central council and units were present on the dais. Royton D’Souza of Kolalgiri and Royson Quadras of Mount Rosary gave their opinion on the successful mega event. On the judges side Suraj Francis Noronha spoke on the occasion. Melroy Almeida delivered the vote of thanks while Savia D’Souza compered the programme at the end. Aruna Noronha declared the winners of the events. Around 200 youth from 8 units of the deanery were present during the 'Yuva Yekthar – 2015' which was a grand success.

Mount Rosary unit won third place.

Sacred Heart, Kolalgiri unit won second place and
