11 dead in Afghanistan fire


Kabul, Aug 25 (IANS): At least 11 people were killed and 18 others injured after a reservoir of liquefied gas caught fire in Afghanistan's Herat city, sources said on Tuesday.

"The incident took place in a reservoir of a gas company in Herat city on Monday after a gas truck exploded near the complex. The death toll may further rise as the fire caused huge damages to the nearby residential areas," Xinhua quoted a local police officer as saying.
