Singh is Bliing: Akshay Kumar survives deadly accident during stunt


Aug 26 (Mid-day): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar survived a freak accident while shooting for song 'Tung Tung Baje' on the sets of the upcoming Prabhudheva directorial 'Singh Is Bliing'.

The scene required Akshay Kumar to jump through a ring of fire. Knowing the daredevil that he is, the Khiladi wanted to perform the stunt himself.

Akshay Kumar pulled off the stunt during rehearsals, but mistimed his jump in the final take. Makers of the film have released a video online that captures Akshay Kumar's freak accident and his frantic battle with the flames before the crew rushes to his rescue.

Akshay Kumar shared the link to the video on Twitter on Tuesday and wrote, "Survived a freak accident on the sets of @SIBTheFilm while shooting for the song #TungTungBaje...

This incident raises questions of actors' safety on the sets of films. From Amitabh Bachchan to Alia Bhatt, several Bollywood actors have been injured while shooting over the years.
