Mumbai: Kannada Welfare Society celebrates 36th anniversary

Mumbai, Aug 26: Kannada Welfare Society celebrated their 36th anniversary at New SNDT auditorium in Ghotkopar on the evening of Sunday August 23.





Achievers Bailur Balachandra Rao, advocate Sudhakara H K and Ajay Bagal were felicitated on the occasion. M G Shetty, Ramesh N Suvarna couple were honoured with achievers award. The Posthumous awards to late A R Furtado and late Balakrishna M Rai were received by Stephen Furtado and Leelananda Rai. Students who secured highest marks in SSC and HSC were awarded talent awards and talented students were presented special prizes on the occasion.

Jyothi Rai and Harini M Shetty led the prayer. Society vice president Naveen Innabalike welcomed the gathering. Honorary chief secretary Jayaraj Jain gave the key note address and introduced the guests. Joint treasurer Sudhakar Ellooru and Narayana Shetty Nandalike compered the programme and introduced the felicitated. Joint secretary Radhakrishna N Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

A tulu play titled 'Ayina Aand Budthu Budle' written by Veeraj Nandikooru and directed by Manohara Shetty Nandalike was enacted by Nirekare artistes later as part of the cultural programme.
