Udupi: 38-year-old killed in car-bike collision

Udupi, Aug 26: A man was killed after a car belonging to a local builder rammed into his bike at Kunjibettu here on Wednesday August 26.

The deceased has been identified as Abhay Ballal (38), a resident of Car Street here.

It is said that Abhay was riding from Manipal to Udupi when builder Laxminarayana Tantry's car hit against his bike near a turning at Kunjibettu.

Abhay was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries. He passed later in the night.

Meanwhile, Tantry is said to be absconding. The police have seized his car, sources said.

Abhay, son of Gopi Ballal, was married and ran an audio store belonging to his father. His younger brother is supposed to get married in few days.

Udupi traffic police have registered a case.
