Escorting girl student to cyber cafe - police cane protesting students

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Aug 27: The students of a college here got agitated after the news that a girl student of the college had been led to a cyber cafe by a male student of the college but belonging to another religion, spread. After the students gathered together and tried to stage a protest, policemen intervened and dispersed the crowd by resorting to caning. The incident occurred near the government PU college here on Wednesday August 26.

On Wednesday, rumour that a male student of the college had escorted a girl student of the college belonging to another community to a cyber cafe, spread like wild fire. The situation turned tense as a result. A group of students approached the principal and insisted on debarring the male student involved with this incident.

In the meantime, the accused student had been seated in a separate room, and students started gathering outside that room. Policemen arrived on the spot and ordered the students to go away.

The student in question was then taken to police station in a jeep. At that time, the students blocked movement of the jeep by placing stones across its path. The police personnel then wielded canes to disperse students who had come together in the playground of the college.

The accused was interrogated at the police station. College principal and crime sub-inspector of police, Sanjay Kallur, questioned the student relating to the incident.

Take action or send a warning to those who have been perpetrating or instigating communal hatred ideology in the society. The communal virus has already entered into our today’s students mind. This would take a heavy toll in their future life and behavior.
I hope our young generation (boys & girls) would take a lesson from all these happenings and would do their best to avoid undue situation out of their care a hoot behavior.
We need to realize that ‘What cannot be cured needs to be endured’

This is too much. Always pointing at other and peeping at the private life of other in the name of community, religion, group and what not. All want to become saviors. IT IS NOT EASY TO SAVE. By hurting, troubling, killing no one can save. If two of different community move what is wrong? What disaster takes place?? Is it not the interference of the third causing disaster ??? When will we learn to live like HUMAN BEINGS ???? Are these college students or wild beasts ????? Waiting to eat the flesh and suck the blood of another is the culture we have adopted that too in the name of religion. Do I REALLY FOLLOW MY RELIGION? IS THE BASIC PRINCIPLE OF MY RELIGION EXIST WITHIN ME ?? We are fools who fooling the religion. We are mad who meddle the human nature - male, female. We are so stupid that the beasts are better than us. No other better way for this than to stop all this NONSENSE.

looks like the police still hasn't learnt its lessons at all. How on earth can they "interrogate" a student for escorting his classmate to the cybercafe? What law did he break? It's time the police themselves are interrogate for being hand in glove with right wing gooons

Certainly such incident for trivial reasons is not good for Mangaloreans. In future it could snowball in to larger disturbance and is of law and order problem.WHY CAN'T GOVT INVOKE GOONDA ACT FOR MORAL POLICING DK?BE IT FROM MINORITY OR MAJORITY COMMUNITY.MORAL POLICING IS A CANCER WHICH SPOILS CIVILIZED SOCIETY AND CREATE HURDLES FOR PEACEFUL CO EXISTENCE BETWEEN THE COMMUNITIES.

From when did they escorting a person, a crime. And what do you mean "the accused was interrogated"... shameless. Mangalore has slowly but definitely slipped into Talibanism. Unless this is addressed to in the right manner urgently, we can very well rename Mangalore... to Kabul. More than the police there is a requirement for schools and colleges to teach tolerance.

Now the police should create a new squad to control these types of hooligans. Who have no other work but create problems.

Even if they are doing right- why don't they take help of the law before they attack.

@Ronnie,mumbai.Police Need not a new squad to control, but Police themselves have to inform and act correct.Police had no Need of taking the Student in Police Jeep.He has not done any criminal act,vut went to a cafe. This should be made clear to goons and take them in Jeep and give lecture on Moral policing and punishment to them.Do we or Student has the right or Independence to go anywhere he wants with anybody?Instead Police are backing These goons.not Aware of other criminality going in Mangalore. What is Mangalore going to be?one of the best smart City?dream further with such ?modern students?and Moral policing?forget it.
