Mangaluru, Aug 27: The Ullal police on Thursday August 27 busted an alleged prostitution racket that was going on in an unoccupied house at Someshwar and arrested three persons, while two others managed to escape.

During the arrest operation, one of the accused assaulted police constable Mahesh Gatti and hindered him from carrying out official duty.

The arrested are Rakesh (34), a resident of New Uchila, Mohammed Siraj (30) of Beeri, and 35-year-old married woman from Asaigoli.

Two others, identified as Abbas of Beeri and Jafar, a resident of Mukkacheri, escaped.

The locals had informed that police that some persons were using the unoccupied house located near the railway station. Acting on the information, the Ullal police led by SI Bharati raided the house.

On seeing the police, Abbas and Jafar jumped over the compound wall and fled while the other three who were in the house were arrested with the help of the locals.

Even as the two accused were jumping over the compound wall, another accused, Rakesh, also tried to escape by the same route. Police constable Mahesh Gatti, who serves as driver for Ullal police, saw the accused escaping and tried to stop them. Mahesh too jumped over the wall and chased Rakesh for about ten minutes and managed to nab him. However, Rakesh fought back and assaulted the constable with whatever he could lay his hands on. It took the constable about 15 minutes to overpower Rakesh, who was well-built and strong. In the process, Mahesh was injured and later admitted to a hospital in Deralakatte.

Ullal police have registered a case and are investigating.

When I had commented few days back (drug addicted person) that a criminals face indicates his hidden character, someone called Kavita/Kuwait, had contradicted my notion on that account.
Kavitha, if you are reading this article just compare the faces of the outlawed guys and the police. What observations you can make?
Prostitution was here, is practiced and will be there. Only, one in a thousand is caught or reported.
It’s high time for the Government to find out a solution i.e. legalizing the brothels.

Decision to legalise is not so easy as there are so many issues, like, many girls, who other wise go for education, work as house maids or jobs, may indulge in prostitution for making easy and huge money.

Those who defend prostitution should think how they feel, if it happens in their next house and if they have children especially girl children.

Bharati is good for Arathi. Take full team of trained Jawans to raid on illegal Prostitution, Carring Cattle without permission,Illegal Liquor Sales. Even after number of Ministers from Managalore serving with the ruling Karnataka congress govt crime rates will not come down in Managalore district. Overcrowded bus service, loose sales of liquor in wine shops will not stop because of the monthly to Police & Excise departments.

The way people talk about the issue shows many brothels in and around Mangaluru. Ladies need to be careful about such vultures and Police strict on the subject because a civilized society is base for peaceful existence. Those who support such activities should know that civilization is control over mind and body. We are no animals to indulge in such activities and people need to have the guts to condemn such immoral objectives openly.

Make prostitution legal. It would bring the 'graph' of rapes on innocents down. The country where I'm living, prostitution is NOT a crime if it is not disturbing the general public. It is an inevitable part of civilized society. In this country, you may have to explain it to the natives, what "RAPE' actually is. Jai hind
