Daijiworld Media Network - Doha

Doha, Aug 28: Prakash Chandra Ajila, a prominent member of the Karnataka expatriate community and president of Bunts Qatar, passed away due to cardiac arrest here on Friday August 28. He was 55.

The ever-smiling Ajila was also the past president of Tulu Koota Qatar, and an active member of Karnataka Sangha Qatar.

Hailing from Mulky near Mangaluru, Ajila had been working and living in Qatar for the last 25 years with his family.

His demise has shocked the large number of expats from Karnataka based in Qatar. Ajila was very popular among the expats due to his humble and helping nature. He had been in the forefront of social and community activities. He was employed with Hamad Medical Corporation and had helped the expatriate community especially with their healthcare needs.

He was senior MRI technologist at Rumailah Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation and was awarded Star Of Excellence Award on World Radiology Day a couple of years ago.

His contribution to the founding and growth of Tulu Koota Qatar and Bunts Qatar is immense. He was the president of Tulu Koota Qatar from 2004-2006. Both as member and later president, Ajila was instrumental in leading TKQ to greater heights. Even after he completed his tenure successfully, he had been the pillar of strength behind TKQ’s all activities and always contributed his best to the growth of TKQ. Recognizing his leadership qualities and selfless service, he was elected as the president of Bunts Qatar in the year 2014 and in the last one year, he has rendered yeoman’s service to Bunts Qatar as its head.

Ajila leaves behind wife Reshma and two sons Pratham and Praceth and a large number of friends and well-wishers.

Hundreds of well-wishers and friends gathered at his residence as well as at Hamad hospital where he passed away to pay their last respects.

Presidents, office-bearers and members of all leading expats associations in Qatar have condoled the demise of Ajila.

Ronald Colaco, NRE entrepenuer expressed his shock at the demise of Ajila and conveyed his condolences to the family member as well as members of Bunts Sangha.

Prayer rites in respect of Ajila will be held at the mortuary at Hamad Hospital at 6 pm on August 30. Those who would like pay last respect to the departed soul are requested to attend.

Sharika joins me in offering condolences during this sad moment of grief which has gripped Doha community, friends, family and people who considered him as God. You ask him he has a solution. Just to narrate my experience when i landed in Qatar,June 2008 i landed in Qatar and i was left all alone in Al Hitmi,Mansoora. I tried contacting few contacts who were not available. The hot weather and away from family in a new place, i decided i will go back to India. Then i recollected myself and called Ajilere, who immediately arranged through his contacts in HMC. I moved to Sheik Mohammed Bin Suhaim Guest house and then i never looked back. Its hard to believe this cruel fate and cannot even think of staying in Qatar, as memories keep flooding-The Good deeds of Ajilere. Its true that physically you are away from us but you are embedded in ourself for our lives forever.
