Mangaluru, Aug 30: Police Commissioner of Mangaluru and an art lover S Murugan inaugurated the art exhibition of total of 27 paintings by Wilson D'Souza Kayyar, portraying the feminine tales on Saturday August 29, at Gallerie Orchid in city.

After inaugurating the exhibition, addressing the gathering, commissioner Murugan said, "I was stuck by this symbolism of lighting the lamp. I noticed the lamp as I was lighting it. It is a traditional lamp which we call the Nanda Deepa."

Giving his opinion on the paintings, Murugan said, "Modern art in India has quite chequered its nature. The artist sees the vision in the work and presents to the
audience. Wilson has done a wonderful work. When I met him for the first time I thought that he was a wrestler. Now when I see his work, the same wonderful energy he has invested in his canvases is seen."

William Pais, proprietor of Gallerie Orchid said, "Wilson has the potential of becoming like M F Hussain. Wilson has painted 300 canvasses in 3 years that is almost 10 canvasses a month. A few selected masterpieces are kept here on display. he has a phenomenal speed. There is nothing to stop him."

Wilson D'Souza in his speech thanked everyone for gracing the exhibition ceremony and for supporting him.

Dinesh Holla, Roy Castelino and other artistes were present on this occasion.
