Dubai: Dev Chelot wins Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa UAE edition

Dubai, Aug 30: Mogachi Lahran Dance Crew choreographer Imran Khan's student Dev Chelot has won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dubai dance extravaganza 2015.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, the premier dance reality show on Colors channel, witnesed the UAE edition on Saturday August 29 at the Crowne Plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The competition, like the last two years, was open to all Indian residents of UAE for solo participation for age group of 12 years and above.

The auditions which were held at the Melia Hotel, Dubai on Aug 14 attracted over 140 entries from across UAE and were judged by ace choreographers Ankit Tanna and Svetana Kanwar from Mumbai. A total of 12 finalists were shortlisted for the grand finale.

These 12 finalists battled it out before a crowd of more than 1,500 people for the golden opportunity to dance in front of Bollywood’s renowned dancing star Shahid Kapoor on the Jhalak floor in Mumbai. Bollywood choreographer Geeta Kapoor and master of ballroom and Latin American dance forms, Sandeep Soparrkar presided over as the jury at the grand finale. Karishma Fernandez and Parikshit Balochi of City 101.6 rocked the show.

Dev Chelot emerged the winner while Bhavik Patel was the first runner-up while Rhea Anil was the second runner-up. Dev thanked his father Ramchandran, mother Kanjana, his choreographer Imran and Mogachi Lahran dance crew's Vincent Fernandes and Brian Fernandes.

Dev wins an all-expense paid trip to Mumbai with once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dance in front of the acclaimed Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor on the coveted stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and also get featured on Colors Middle East.

The event was organized by Emirates Vision Events and promoted through a wide reach multi-media campaign across Colors, MTV India and many others, connecting directly with the youth through educational and dance institutes.
