Mangaluru, Sep 1: A complaint filed by a resident of Kankanady in the city alleges that gold and diamond ornaments valued at about seven lac rupees have been stolen from her house.

Shankar Rai, resident of Suvarna Lane in Kankanady here, said that these ornaments were stolen on Monday August 31. She said she had taken off the ornaments she was wearing before taking bath. She stated that sometime thereafter, the ornaments were seen to have gone missing mysteriously.

The stolen ornaments included a couple of diamond-studded earlobes and other ornaments. She has suspected the role of a lady who has been working in her house since the last three months as domestic help in this theft.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
