Four killed in gas leak at UP distillery


Lucknow, Sep 2 (IANS): Four people were killed and three others injured when a poisonous gas leaked at a distillery in Rampur on Wednesday, police said.

The injured were admitted to a hospital where their condition was said to be critical.

All the deceased were labourers cleaning a tank at the distillery when the mishap took place. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, an official said.

Police said the mishap took place at a distillery of Radico Khaitan in the Civil Lines area of Rampur.

The administration has since sanitised the area due to fear of more gas leak.
