Bantwal, Sep 3: Relating to the incident in which a person was hacked to death and two of his friends were injured by a gang on Sunday, the Vittal police arrested an auto rickshaw driver. He was arrested on Wednesday September 2 and produced in the court.

Asif-deceased person

The arrested auto rickshaw driver has been identified as Iqbal alias Ikku (24) from Poyyagadde in Kanyana. The gang, allegedly identified as 'Nappate Rafiq Gang' from Paivalike in Kerala, after murdering Asif with a Sabre and seriously injuring Hakim and Riaz, had escaped in the auto rickshaw operated by Iqbal, as the car in which they had arrived got stranded at the spot of the crime after its front tyre went flat.

The policemen have arrested Iqbal on the allegation of helping the murder-accused to escape. It is said that the driver was threatened by the accused, who were brandishing sharp weapons, to take them away to a far away spot.

The police personnel said that they had earlier arrested Iqbal relating to a case in which he had been accused of abducting a minor girl and raping her. He had secured bail thereafter, it is gathered.

Bajrangies are blessed with special skills. When they want to attack single person, tens of people join and when being attacked, one person overpower seven guys. Time to learn such skills!

I am bit confused. The killers are topis and many readers comment chaddis ( a reference to majority community) in group attacked. I dont know whether topi is the appropriate word or one must think some thing more respectable.

In such situation no one will sit in their Auto fearlessly. Instead by seeing this gruesome Murder everyone will disappear from the war-zone to save/avoid themselves from future interrogation from the Police if they are not involved from any angle like other Auto drivers did.

Possible that Iqbal drove them sensing threat to his own life. Since he has previous criminal records, police should check his cellphone log for further evidence if any.
