Cooler days on the horizon across UAE


UAE, Sep 4 (Khaleej Times): The sky will remain hazy throughout the weekend across the country.

Visibility will be poor mainly due to dust while the seas will remain rough. Fujairah and Khor Fakkan will remain cloudy throughout the day with some rain expected today.

According to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the weather will remain hazy and even cloudy particularly over the eastern mountain areas.

The month started with quite high temperatures, although humidity dropped from 100 per cent just a few days ago to a maximum of 90 per cent in the coastal areas.

On Thursday, moderate northwesterly winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour blew in dust creating poor visibility particularly over Jebel Ali, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the western areas.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Al Wathba area (just east of Abu Dhabi island), at 25.1 degrees Celsius, at 6.15am. As the day progressed, the temperatures reached 46º Celsius in southern and eastern inland areas like Liwa and Hatta,.

On Friday, temperatures will remain the same while on Saturday the weather will be slightly cooler with 40º Celsius predicted for Abu Dhabi, 39 for Dubai and the northern areas, and 37 along the east coast.
