Bengaluru girl found hanging in hostel at Moodbidri

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 6: In a tragic incident, a young girl staying at a hostel in Vidyagiri, Moodbidri was found hanging on Sunday September 6.

The deceased has been identified as Rakshita (17) from Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

It is said that on Saturday September 5 night, she had a fight with one of the wardens and did not go back to her room. On Sunday morning, she was found hanging by a wire in the hostel bathroom, sources said.

She was a first year BCom student of Alva's College, Moodbidri. She was found dead in the college hostel.

A death note was found in her hand, in which she stated that she was taking the extreme step due to harassment by the hostel's senior wardens, sources said. However, sources in the hostel did not confirm the same. She also apologized to her parents in the death note.

Moodbidri police are investigating.

My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved parents and family members of the girl. May God comfort them in their hard time, heal their wounds, help them come out from the sorrow, pain and agony.
Instead of suicide she has to return back to her home, she depart alone and behind her parents loved ones has to pass through hell of sorrow, pain, and agony, their dreams vanished. is her parents can overcome the pain in one day.
Now days children are much pampered in home with giving everything what they ask or without ask to make them happy, later some time parents cannot control them so they put them in hostel also , who in home lived independent life, they can't control their habits. Staying in the hostel is difficult for them to follow rules regulations, hard for them.later for everything we cant blame for others too( here dont know whats reality)
So parents have to be in limit when growing children, these days no patience in children, demanding sometime what parents not affordable to provide also, some time looking with other same thing, poor or middle class people really suffer.

Dear Krishna Bhatji Suppose your daughters money stolen by somebody your daughter complain to your warden if warden did not take any action for that matter what is your reaction on the School or warden. If warden take action you will appreciate because your daughters money you got back. If you loose money again you blame for the non action from the Warden. You will be awarding the Stolen girl.

    SAD NEWS FOR PARENTS.
COLLEGES ALSO SHOULD TAKE CARE WHILE APPOINTING WARDENS.
    1.EDUCATION BACKGROUND OF WARDENS
2.LIKE TEACHERS THEY TOO NEED SOME LEVEL OF exposure to CHILD/REN PSYCHOLOGY.
3.WELL-of parents CARE -Poor background(financially) Wardens Behaviour- Mis-match need to be addressed by colleges.

Sure ALVAs wud address these things.

I think it's because of the way we grow our children now a days. too much pampering, we don't scold them at all and hence they will not have any patience to get scoldings or guidance from teachers nor any senior people. when ever any such situation where they are caught and guided, they can not tolerate and go to take such extreme steps. My connect after reading the comments from Anand where he explained actual fact. I too agree, warden wouldn't have taken any action if girl is clear. now looks girl was a thief and when caught red handed, she didn't have any choice than this extreme step with the suicide note with which she would have wanted to put warded in trouble... it's not a major deal to crack it. Investigate the students and the authorities if there was any such blame on her , was there any investigation and she found guilty getting caught red handed... accordingly the truth could be frozen.

Educational institutions must be careful while hiring warden and faculty. There are some dictators who behave in rudely with innocent young kids who are not nurtured to such harsh treatment.
School management and warden both responsible and must be accountable
The least thing they can do is compensate by apology and settle blood money though it is not matching
One student died in a school bus accident in doha where the school bus driver did not allow sufficient time to student while she was getting down and reckless driver started the bus child died on spot
All these issues to be studied carefully to protect kids

Dear Reader Please don't blame Alvas, because the fact is not reason given by the girl. The fact is different, she steel many things from her roommates and she stolen many things from other rooms also, when ever the theft happened students complaint to the Warden. This is the duty of warden to take the complaint and give the proper solutions to the student. In this case her room mate lost one big amount from her cupboard and on the suspicious her cupboard has been investigated and the amount has been found and apart from that they found many things like expensive mobiles, umbrellas,Jackets,Sandles, perfumes,More Cash, expensive things belongs to other student for those the warden already received the complaints from the various student. The Warden has sent her to her senior for further clarification. Due to the further discussion with the Warden she might had lost her brain and she took decision.
In this episode nobody should blame Warden and Alvas since My daughter also studying in Alvas I came to know the fact. Therefore I request to all readers please don't comments on Warden, they should be given training, education etc. It is badluck of Parents of the Girl and Her own foolishness taking drastic step. We have to say sorry only her Parents and not for her habits.
More over the same girl has the steeling the habits from 11th std. itself. What I suggest to the Warden any complaint from the student the warden immediately they should Act. If the girl should have rectified immediately. she did not rectified so the theft grown and she reached this stage.

It is True that Wardens & SW Officers in the campus are terrible, they are blood suckers, Taring of Dresses in front of other students for silly reasons & punishment for students in public places and insulting is common for Local Students, for Hostel Students it is like 'JAIL' in the name of discipline. Even we at home not go to such level after the age of 16. but in this case the girl should not have taken extreme step before discuss it with parents or care takers. If you can't con't control some indiscipline students you send them home.

Mr. Truth, you mean to say that every person residing in the posh locality of Jaya nagar in Bangalore are multimillionaire, than you are far away from reality, for your information over 30% of Bangalore population is living below the poverty line. Please do not comment without knowing the true facts. I am not supporting Alvas, but for every suicide of a student if you blame the institution, India will not have a higher education institution running. For your information recently a student of AIMS, Delhi, IiT Chennai also committed suicide. Does it mean to a say Govt of India represented by the education minister has to resign or you have to close those institutions.

    1. She doesn't come from an interior area in Bangalore. Jayanagar is part of modern Bangalore, very developed.

    2. She looks like a bubbly, fun loving girl. Adjusting in places like Moodbidri must have been tough for her due to the Conservative nature of people.

    3. Staying away from family, adjusting to a small town life must have been hard for her. Over that got scolded.

The warden only added to her frustration.
May your soul rest in peace my dear. God bless your dear parents.

Felt very sad. Dont know why people send their children from there to moodabidre as if the course chosen is not taught anywhere in bangalore. Irony is Students from Mangalore run to Bangalore to join colleges there. Anyway warden and the management cannot escape from the truth that they have failed in handling this student's case in a matured way.

Alva's group of instruction every year provides about 100 students free education, food and stay .I have met at least 5 or 6 who have benefitted from this . Most of these students hail from the poorest section of the society and majority of them are from the districts surrounding Bangalore, generally these students are very talented in sports or other cocuricular activities like dance or drama.. Probably this girls was a talented in some activity, but could not afford to sustain it due financial difficulties. Death might have occurred for some personal reasons, blaming the institution serves no purpose. Lastly during the current year one of the youngest basketball player to represent India is a student of Alvas, and she hails from one of poorest family from Mandya, all her education and stay is free of cost

Don't just advocate and do the salesman jod for any institutions without knowing the fact of the death of the student. Without any reasons such young person won't take such a serious step to hang and die. Police should look seriously why such thing happened and won't happen again. Counciling and some kind of education for young youth required to prevent such serious issue

Nowadays, children don't like scoldings, beatings, strict rules, discipline etc. When we were in school teachers used to take scale & hit on knuckles. But there was no option of complaining/rather only crying. But for this generation its not the same case.Suicide was not the option.Of all the colleges in B'lore why was she sent to M'Lore ,as though for rocket science.

It is also the fault of the parents for not raising their children pleasing to God. Parents should also live lives pleasing to God. Parents spent more time in the material world and hence forgot God. The Children without a guardian were left to their own and followed the material world like their parents. Gods commandments are applicable to both parents and children. Pray for the soul of this young girl and for God's mercy.

Let us believe what she has written in her death note but we can’t support her action since it was extreme…. Even if she gets justice in due course but that doesn’t make any sense for her parents!!!!! She had courage to commit suicide but didn’t have courage to expose these wardens if it is true?????

At 17 anyone is childlike, naive and innocent. They are taken away from their homes/parents and put up in the hostels with wardens who act like monsters and treat these kids like criminals. otherwise why would anyone take ones own life ? Enjoy eternal peace Rakshita and send blessings to your parents to live this life without you.
