Ester - Lorna to feature in series of Konkani musical shows in USA

Mangaluru, Sep 7: Konkani lovers in the USA are in for a musical feast. Invictus Films INC, with its executive producers Effie and Gladston Tavares, will be organising four shows in three cities of the USA at the end of September and beginning of October.

The shows will feature renowned Konkani artistes from Goa and Mangaluru.

Goa's Evergreen Nightingale Lorna, Melody King of Goa Lawry Travasso and Mangaluru's rising starlet Ester Noronha will be the stars of these shows. Norman Cardozo will conduct the music for the show while comedians John D’Silva and Socorro will perform comedy skits.

This is the first time a show by a Mangalurean Konkani performer is being held in the USA.


Schedule of the shows:

On September 27 at San Jose, California
On September 29 and October 2 at Houston, Texas
On October 4 at Newark, New Jersey.

The Toronto show in Canada will be organised by ‘Goan Overseas Association’ presided by Selwyn Colaco. The details of this show will be known soon.


About Ester Noronha

Ester Noronha is a well-known singer and emerging actress from Mangaluru. In addition to her achievements of being the first Konkani singer to act in lead roles in films, she is one among the few from Mangaluru to act in six languages, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Tulu. Ester has achieved this feat in a short span of time. Despite her foray into films, she has not abandoned her singing career and her love for her mother tongue Konkani remains the same.

Ester has already acted in a Hindi movie which is now in the post production stage. She is also presently acting in a Kannada movie ‘Local Train’ opposite Madarangi Krishna and in a Telugu movie ‘Jalsarayudu’ opposite Srikant Meka.

In addition to the above, she is debuting in a Marathi movie titled ‘Majhi Aashiqui’, directed by Pravin Karle, one of the top directors of Marathi filmdom. She is also debuting in a Tamil movie which is yet to be titled.

Ester is also acting in a Tulu movie ‘Jugari ‘directed by Anand Raju opposite Karthik Attavar. The shooting of the film has just begun.
