Jammu, June 30 (UNI): The annual two-month-long pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath was suspended today to due to landslides and bad weather, police said.

The yatra was scheduled to start from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes on Vrat Purnima today.

''There have been landslides at several places on the way due to heavy rains in Kashmir,'' a police spokesperson told UNI, adding the yatra had been suspended initially for a day and its commencement will be the subject to weather conditions.

The registration for the yatra was started on June one this year and the first batch of pilgrims will leave for the holy cave from MAM stadium, the base camp for pilgrimage.
