Mangaluru, Sep 7: It was a dazzling, star-studded night as Kadri Cricketers Club celebrated Krishna Janmashtami, particularly Mosaru Kudike, with a brillant 'Rhythmic Nite-15' musical show at Kadri grounds here on Sunday September 6.

The star attraction of the show was Sandalwood actor, director and music director 'Crazy Star' Ravichandran, who was attending the Kadri Cricketers' Club annual event for the first time.

Addressing the crowd, Ravichandran said, "I know Mangaluru very well. I have come here on many occasions."

Speaking about his new upcoming film 'Apoorva', Ravichandran said, "The film features just two main characters, Apoorva and me. Most of the film has been shot with the two protagonists stuck in a lift. The film also stars Sudeep in a cameo. Sudeep has also lent his voice to most part of the film, thereby making his presence felt in a unique way. The movie has quotes about love such as "Death, a reason to love. Love, a reason to die", "The world does not matter to the person who has fallen in love" etc."

Prior to the stage programme, little kids enthralled the audience with their performances.

Playback singer Shamitha Malnad entertained the gathering with her beautiful voice.

Another highlight was performance by young Gagan Gaonkar from Karkala, who was won Zee TV's Li'l Champs earlier this year.

A galaxy of other stars also entertained the jam-packed crowd. Local dance crews performed scintillating dances to peppy numbers, compelling the crowd also to join in.

Rajessh Bhat, associate producer of Bollywood superhit 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sandalwood actor Chandan, music director Manikanth Kadri, district incharge minister Ramanath Rai, sports minister Abhayachandra Jain, health minister U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs J R Lobo and Mohiuddin Bava, MLC Ivan D'Souza, AJ Institution chairman A J Shetty, Sri Devi College chairman Sadananda Shetty, corporator D K Ashok and others were also present on this occasion.

Vineeth and Aishwarya compered the ceremony.

During Mosaru Kudike, young men formed pyramids and broke the curd pots amid loud cheering from the huge crowd that gathered at the spot.

What a spectacular event and funfair. Mosaru kudike has taken to new heights/dimension from the usual event which used to be at Attavar circle. I remember those olden days enjoying the events especially, young guys climbing (repeatedly) the oiled areca nut tree - trunk and breaking the Madka.
