Woman arrested for hacking into ex-employer's computers


Gurgaon, Sep 9 (IANS): A 30-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday for hacking and destroying data on her ex-employer company's computers, police said.

Hema Arora, wife of Rakesh Kumar Singh and a resident of Bokaro in Jharkhand, was arrested in connection with a case registered against her in November 2014.

An MBA, she was at present living as a tenant in Model Town area of Gurgaon.

The private firm, where she had worked and which had fired her after some dispute with the management, had lodged a police complaint against her under the IT Act.

Police said there were cookies to access the user-Id of the company in the laptop of the woman, with the help of which she hacked into the system and cancelled booked tickets, due to which the company suffered a loss of Rs.1 lakh.

The laptop and a data card used to hack into the system were seized from the woman.
