Tigress found dead in Bihar tiger reserve


Patna, Sep 10 (IANS): A tigress was found dead near a railway track in Valmiki tiger reserve in Bihar's West Champaran district on Thursday, officials said.

The forest guards found the body of a Royal Bengal tigeress in a forested area in the state's only tiger reserve, said a district forest official.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death, he said.

A few months back, a royal Bengal tiger was found dead in the reserve.

According to forest officials, there were 28 tigers in the reserve.
