Indian designer Nirav Modi opens his first boutique in US


New York, Sep 11 (IANS): After launching stores in India, jewellery designer Nirav Modi opened doors to his first boutique in the US here with a celebration which saw names like Naomi Watts and Nimrat Kaur in attendance.

The Indian designer already has boutiques in Delhi and Mumbai. He has now launched his latest store at Manhattan's Madison Avenue, said a statement.

The grand launch was attended by Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities as well as some style influencers of the Big Apple.

Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated actress Naomi Watts, high fashion model Coco Rocha, and Indian actors Nimrat Kaur and Lisa Haydon were among the attendees at the official opening party and red carpet at the boutique.

Leading up to the boutique's launch, Modi displayed the renowned Maharani Diamond Necklace and Earrings set, valued at $1.65 million, in the window, setting the stage for the kind of luxury items now available at the boutique, which has an elegant and polished environment.

The interior features a handcrafted paper art window frieze reflecting all iconic collections by the designer.
