Mangaluru, Sep 11: Karnataka Agencies, dealers for Mahindra & Mahindra vehicles in the region, on Thursday September 10 launched compact SUV, the new 'TUV300', in a ceremony held at its showroom near Kottara Chowki here.

R C Rodrigues, partner of Karnataka Agencies welcomed the gathering and said that since 1945 Mahindra & Mahindra has been launching good vehicles into the market. "In 2000 it had launched Scorpio which is even today one of the highest selling vehicles in the country. Mahindra & Mahindra has been ranked number one in sales satisfaction by GDP survey. Karnataka Agencies has also been given 955 points in after-sales service. I thank customers for their support in building this firm, which was started with only two staff, and today has 600 employees."

R C Rodrigues handed over the key to first 'TUV300' owners Veena and Praveen Lasrado.

Santhosh Rodrigues, Rathan Rodrigues, Wilma Rodrigues, partners of Karnataka Agencies and others were present at the occasion.

Mahindra TUV300 Specifications

The TUV300 compact SUV is powered by a mHawk architecture based engine - the mHawk80. This 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged is capable of producing a top power output of 80bhp along with a peak torque of 230Nm. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and an automatic gearbox.

The SUV also gets a micro hybrid system that we have already seen on the Mahindra Scorpio. This system helps in achieving high fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions. It automatically switches off the engine when the car is standstil, the powertrain gets operation when clutch is again utilised.

There is a new eco mode on offer, which balance engine power for driving and AC usage. This helps in achieving improved fuel economy.

As standard, the vehicle gets power windows, air-conditioning, power steering, tilt steering and an immobilizer. On safety front, the vehicle has ABS (anti-lock braking system) and dual airbags. The range topping variant gets electronically adjustable ORVMs, micro hybrid technology, a four-inch display and static bending headlamps. The mid-level variant gets three-inch display, while the base variant lacks this feature. The car comes in six exterior colours - glacier white, bold black, majestic silver, dynamo red, molten orange and verve blue.
