Tokyo, Sep 11 (IANS): Tokyo stocks ended mixed on Friday on concerns over a US monetary policy meeting next week.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 35.40 points (0.19 percent) from Thursday at 18,264.22, reported Xinhua news agency.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 0.71 point (0.05 percent) higher at 1,480.23.
Major decliners included oil and coal products and electric machinery, while retail and real estate issues led gainers.
The turnover was 3,471.70 billion yen ($28.77 billion).
