President, PM condole deaths in Grand Mosque accident


New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) : President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condoled the deaths in the crane accident at the Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia.

President Mukherjee, in a tweet said: "Heartfelt condolences to families of deceased due to crane crash in Mecca, prayers for speedy recovery of the injured."

Modi said: "My thoughts & prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives in the crane crash in Mecca. I wish the injured a quick recovery."

At least 107 people were killed and 238 injured after a crane collapsed on to the Grand Mosque in the Saudi Arabia's holy city of Makkah, the media reported on Friday.

    I appreciate the gesture but when so many farmers committing suicide in India, this great PM don't even utter a word but talks a lot when it comes to election, opposition party, Sonia and Daamaad. What a tragedy for India!!
