Jake Gyllenhaal wants to do Broadway musical

Los Angeles, Sep 12 (IANS): Actor Jake Gyllenhaal says he wants to explore the world of Broadway musical "in the near future".

Gyllenhaal shared his inclination towards the musical on September 10 at the Toronto International Film Festival's opening night premiere of his drama-comedy “Demolition”, reports eonline.com.

The “Southpaw” actor had wowed audiences earlier this year when he co-starred in a three-show concert reading of "Little Shop of Horrors", the 1982 Howard Ashman-Alan Menken musical about a man-eating plant.

"I don't know about that show in particular...but I definitely would love to be doing a musical on Broadway in the near future," Gyllenhaal said.

"I would love that. It would be a huge honour. There are a lot of really good people, who do it really well so you gotta know you can do it well if you're going to do it," he added.
