Illegal explosives behind Jhabua blasts: Congress

Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 12 (IANS): The Congress on Saturday said an illegal stock of explosives was the actual reason behind the explosions in Madhya Pradesh's Jhabua district in which at least 87 people were killed and over 100 injured.

Arun Yadav, Congress president of the Madhya Pradesh unit, told IANS: "Had it not been for the explosives, an incident on such a huge scale would not have occurred and resulted in so many deaths."

Yadav also alleged that Rajendra Kasawa, the head of the BJP's business cell, is a stockist of the explosive materials which are generally used for mining purposes in this region.

According to police, the deaths and destruction occurred after a cylinder blast at a tea stall, which was packed with customers, was followed by a massive blast that ripped through an adjoining building.
