Yeddyurappa to attend Ganeshotsava event in Dubai

Dubai, Sep 13: A grand event has been planned in Dubai on September 18 to celebrate Ganeshotsava.

Former chief minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa, MP Shobha Karandlaje, former minister Krishna Palemar and bureau chief of Udayavani daily Manohar Prasad will participate in the celebration as chief guests.

This event, a first public Ganeshotsava by pro-Kannada associations in Dubai, has been organised by Margadeepa cultural committee. The event will be held from 10 am to 7 pm at JSS International School auditorium in Al Barsha.

Sri Narendranatha Yogeshwareshwara Swamiji will deliver the pravachana, it is revealed. Various rituals and progammes like Maha Mangalarthi, devotional songs, discussions and pujas will be part of the celebrations.

A meeting to discuss the preparations for the Ganeshotsava was held at Grand Hotel in Dubai on Saturday, September 12. Several Tulu and Kannada organisations participated in the meeting.

Praveen Shetty, chairman of Fortune Group of Hotels and Ganeshotsava committee honorary chairman, Harish Sherigar, managing director of Acme Building Materials, Satish Venkataramana of Chilly Willy, Prabhakar Ambalthere, president of the Ganeshotsava committee and Sarvotham Shetty, president of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha were present in the meet.

The meeting discussed preparations for the Ganeshotsava and suggestions came from the participants to celebrate the event in a grand way. Puja details were also discussed. Writer and Sharjah Karnataka Sangha former president Ganesh Rai, Herman Lewis from Radio Spice also shared their opinions.
