Kasargod: Bank robbery case - Accused arrested from Bengaluru

Kasargod, Sep 14: In a major breakthrough in the sensational Eriyal bank robbery case, the investigative team on Sunday September 13 arrested one of the accused from Bengaluru.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mahshook (25), who resides in Chowki in the outskirts of Kasargod.

In a daylight robbery on September 7, five masked men had entered the poorly secured Kudlu Service Cooperative Bank and decamped with 21 kg of gold and Rs 13 lac in cash after brandishing weapons and tying up women staff and a customer.

It is learnt that Mahshook was arrested in Bengaluru and will be brought to Kasargod on Monday September 14.

Four other accused including the prime accused are still absconding. Four other persons were earlier taken into custody for helping the accused. 

Four teams have been formed to hunt down the accused and investigation is proceeding at a brisk pace. The police have already seized two cars and two bikes used by the robbers.
