Mangaluru: Rammohan Maroor elected president of KCCI

Mangaluru, Sep 15: Rammohan Pai Maroor has been elected as the new president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

He takes over the responsibility from Nigam Vasani.

The election was held during the 74th annual general meeting of the KCCI members at 4 pm on Tuesday September 15 at the KCCI's registered office.

The newly-elected office-bearers and directors of the board of KCCI are:

President: Rammohan Pai Maroor
Vice-president: Jeevan Saldanha
Hon treasurer: M Ganesh Bhat
Hon secretaries: Gaurav Hegde, Vathika Pai

    This is not a gift offered to Rammmohan Maroor but indeed a recognition of the services rendered by him to Kanara Chamber of Commerce and the people of Mangalore. During my working days I was invited more than once by The Chamber to be with the members.

    There is an interesting but at the same time a difficult and challenging job ahead of Rammmohan but with his knowledge and years of experience he should certainly translate in tangible terms his ability to lead

    I join several others in saying kudos to Rammohan and wish him well.

    I have been an active Member of many Chamber of Commerces in Canada as well as U.S.A., and I know too well the role of the Chamber in all the daily progress and plans that the Chamber possesses.

Also, create opportunities for the local artisans and craftsmen to showcase their products on a global platform. We need to create jobs for our youth, because most of them end up going to other places, leaving their parents here!
