Man seeks permission for mercy killing at CM's Janata Darshan

Claims that police lax in probing the murder of his brother

Bengaluru, Sep 16 (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was in for a surprise on Tuesday when a resident of Sira taluk in Tumakuru petitioned him, seeking his permission for mercy killing if he cannot get him justice in a case pertaining to the murder of his brother.

Bhotesh, a resident of Bhokapattana hobli in Sira, told the chief minister that close aides of Law Minister T B Jayachandra were protecting those involved in the recent murder of his elder brother, Ramesh. Repeated requests to the superintendent of police and the deputy commissioner seeking justice have not yielded any result, he claimed.

Siddaramaiah immediately spoke to the Tumakuru superintendent of police as well as the deputy commissioner over phone and directed them to take appropriate measures to provide justice to the petitioner.

Another person, Syed Rahim, from Kunigal taluk of the same district complained to the chief minister, charging that BJP MLA from Tumakuru Rural Assembly constituency Suresh Gowda had grabbed his land at Uttaridurga in Kunigal. The MLA threatened him of dire consequences when he recently brought this to the notice to State BJP president Prahlad Joshi. But the party has not taken any action against the MLA, he added. The chief minister assured that appropriate action will be taken.

Kannada cine actor of yesteryear Leelavati and her son Vinod Raj urged the chief minister direct the Forest department not to evict farmers at Soladevanahalli near Nelamangala. All the lands at the village are revenue land. Still the Forest department has issued the eviction notices, they added.

No compensation

In another instance, Yogesh from Mandya district complained to the chief minister that his father, Ninge Gowda, who was a farmer, committed suicide recently due to debt burden.

But the officials have so far not given the monitory compensation to the family members. He also urged the chief minister to get him a government job. Siddaramaiah directed the officials to take appropriate action. The chief minister, who conducted Janata Darshana from 10.30 am to 1.45 pm, received a total of 785 applications.

BJP MLA from Tumakuru Rural Assembly constituency Suresh Gowda had grabbed his land at Uttaridurga in Kunigal. The MLA threatened him. Whatever BJP people are doing there is no punishment as BJP already d No suspension, or punishment if any BJP leaders are involved any crime.

I neither told that Congress all are saints nor BJP all are culprits. When some scams or any criminal or any Railway accident.... our BJP leaders were asking resignation....See Raja, Kalmady or Bansal Railway minister. But when there were scams in MP/ Rajastan or Maharastra... our ruling BJP told that no one will resign or will be suspended.
